The site is 9.4 ha of previously developed brownfield land on Bourn Airfield, and is located between Cambourne to the west, and Highfields and Highfields Caldecote to the east.

The A428 runs to the north of the site, providing the Bourn Quarter with direct access to the strategic road network.

The proposed Bourn New Village, allocated in the adopted South Cambridgeshire Local Plan, surrounds the site.

The site was used by Gestamp Tallent Ltd for engineering and sheet metal fabrications, and comprised four industrial units with additional office and storage space. These buildings have now been demolished.

Planning permission was granted in December 2013 for 17,723 sq. m of B1, B2 and B8 employment space. This was to be a direct replacement of the previous buildings on the site for Gestamp Tallent, and used for the manufacture of metal automotive components.

However, the facility was never built, and in 2018 the site was sold to clients of Savills Investment Management.
